  • 4 ounces cream cheese Softened, forms creamy base.
  • 0.33 cup Parmesan cheese Freshly grated, reserve 1 tbsp for topping.
  • 0.33 cup pecans Roughly chopped, reserve 1 tbsp for garnish.
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley Finely chopped, brightens filling.

  • sautéed vegetables (like spinach or bell peppers) For added nutrition and color.
  • ricotta or goat cheese Substitute for cream cheese.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  • Remove the stems from the mushrooms, chop them finely, and set the caps aside.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add chopped mushroom stems, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the sautéed mixture to a bowl and allow it to cool slightly. Stir in cream cheese, Parmesan, pecans, and parsley until combined.
  • Fill each mushroom cap with the mixture and top with reserved Parmesan and pecans.
  • Bake the stuffed mushrooms on the baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the filled mushrooms rest for about 15 minutes before baking. Serve with balsamic glaze for additional flavor.
