Ingredients

For the Base

  • 4 cups whole milk Can substitute with almond, coconut, or oat milk.
  • 1.5 cups dry uncooked white rice Long-grain white rice is recommended.
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste, alternatives include agave syrup or honey.

For Flavoring

  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon Fresh cinnamon sticks can be used for a stronger flavor.
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract Vanilla bean paste can be used for a gourmet touch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by combining 4 cups of whole milk, 1½ cups of dry uncooked white rice, ¼ cup of granulated sugar, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract in a blender. Blend for about 1 minute until everything is well mixed.
  • Use a fine-mesh strainer to pour the blended mixture into a large pitcher to separate the smooth liquid from any rice debris.
  • Place the remaining rice back into the blender and repeat the blending process with an additional 4 cups of milk, ¼ cup of sugar, and more cinnamon if desired. Strain this mixture again.
  • Pour all the strained liquid back into the pitcher, gently stir to combine, and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
  • Stir well before serving, pour over ice, and enjoy.

Notes

Optional garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick for extra flavor.
