Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a medium bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, blend canola oil, unsalted butter, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—about 3-4 minutes.
Gradually incorporate the large eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Alternate between adding the sifted dry ingredients and the buttermilk to the wet mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Mix a reserved portion of the batter with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and molasses to create the cinnamon swirl.
Pour half of the plain batter into the greased loaf pan, add dollops of the cinnamon swirl mixture, then pour the remaining batter over it.
