Instructions
How to Make Delicious Easy Greek Baklava
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch pan by brushing it generously with melted butter.
Chop your chosen nuts and mix them with ground cinnamon in a bowl.
Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it to fit your pan size, keeping the dough covered with a damp kitchen towel.
Take two sheets of phyllo dough, brush them lightly with melted butter, and lay them in the pan. Repeat this process eight times, then sprinkle a layer of the nut mixture over the top and continue layering.
Cut the assembled baklava into diamond or square shapes with a sharp knife.
Bake the baklava for 50 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
Prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar in a saucepan, stirring until dissolved, then adding honey and vanilla.
Spoon the hot syrup generously over the baklava immediately after it comes out of the oven.
Allow baklava to cool completely before serving.
Notes
For an elegant touch, garnish with finely chopped nuts on top before serving.
