  • 1 cup Water No substitutes necessary.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla for the best taste.
  • 1/2 cup Honey Maple syrup can be used as an alternative for a different flavor.

Instructions

How to Make Delicious Easy Greek Baklava

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch pan by brushing it generously with melted butter.
  • Chop your chosen nuts and mix them with ground cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it to fit your pan size, keeping the dough covered with a damp kitchen towel.
  • Take two sheets of phyllo dough, brush them lightly with melted butter, and lay them in the pan. Repeat this process eight times, then sprinkle a layer of the nut mixture over the top and continue layering.
  • Cut the assembled baklava into diamond or square shapes with a sharp knife.
  • Bake the baklava for 50 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  • Prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar in a saucepan, stirring until dissolved, then adding honey and vanilla.
  • Spoon the hot syrup generously over the baklava immediately after it comes out of the oven.
  • Allow baklava to cool completely before serving.

Notes
