Instructions
How to Make Irresistible Slice and Bake Cookies
Cream the softened unsalted butter with both sugars until creamy and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Incorporate the large egg yolk, salt, vanilla extract, and optional almond extract into the mixture.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed.
If using, gently fold in the colorful nonpareils into the dough.
Divide the dough into two logs about 2 inches in diameter, wrap in wax paper, and chill for 2-3 hours.
Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC), slice the chilled logs into ¼-inch rounds, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
