Instructions

How to Make Berries & Cream French Toast Bake

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with a generous layer of butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and kosher salt until smooth.
  • Gently toss the torn croissants in the custard mixture until each piece is well-soaked. Layer half of the croissants in the dish, dolloping fruit preserves and cream cheese throughout, then add the remaining croissants.
  • Pour any leftover custard mixture over the croissant layers, allowing some crispy bits to show through.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  • Lay thin slices of butter on top and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • While it bakes, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and sweeten with powdered sugar and maple syrup to taste.
  • After baking, remove from the oven, top with whipped cream, fresh berries, and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

Allow croissants to soak overnight for maximum flavor and a fluffy texture. Customize with different fruit preserves or nuts for a personal touch.
