Instructions

How to Make Easy Classic Stuffed Peppers

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the tops off the large green bell peppers, then remove the seeds. Blanch them in boiling water for 3 minutes to soften, then cool and drain.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey with chopped onion over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes. Ensure any excess fat is drained.
  • In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the cooked meat, cooked rice, half of the canned tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Generously pack the filling into each prepared bell pepper. Top them off with the remaining tomato sauce.
  • Arrange the stuffed peppers in a baking dish, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.
  • Let your stuffed peppers cool briefly before serving. Consider garnishing with cheese or fresh herbs.

Notes

Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days. Reheating in the oven preserves texture.
