Preparation Steps
Thaw your puff pastry completely in the fridge. Once soft, roll it out on a floured surface and cut it into 6 strips, each around 2 inches wide.
In a mixing bowl, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice with cold water. This bath will keep your apple slices fresh and vibrant.
In a small bowl, mix together light brown sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined.
Core and thinly slice your apples into half-moon shapes. Place them in the lemon water to prevent browning.
Brush each pastry strip generously with your chosen jam, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture, and arrange the apple slices along one edge. Roll the pastry up gently to form beautiful roses.
Place the assembled roses in a greased muffin pan. Chill briefly for about 10 minutes, then bake at 400°F (200°C) for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow the apple roses to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For freezing, assemble roses and cover tightly, then bake from frozen, adding extra minutes as needed.
