Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a rimmed baking sheet inside.
  • Boil a large pot of water with 1 teaspoon of salt and prepare a bowl filled with ice water.
  • Cut broccoli into equal-sized florets and blanch in boiling water for about 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the blanched broccoli into the ice water for 2 minutes, then dry with paper towels.
  • Toss the dried broccoli with olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and black pepper.
  • Spread the broccoli evenly on the hot baking sheet and broil for 4 minutes.
  • Combine melted butter, panko crumbs, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes.
  • Sprinkle the cheesy breadcrumb blend over the broccoli, broil again for 3-5 minutes.
