For the Cruffins

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar You can substitute with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon Experiment with nutmeg or cardamom for a unique twist.
  • 2 packages Puff Pastry Consider using phyllo dough for a lighter alternative.
  • ½ cup Salted Butter Use unsalted butter with a pinch of salt if preferred, softened.

For the Topping

  • 4 tablespoons Reserved Cinnamon Sugar Mixture Set aside from your earlier preparation.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and grease a muffin pan lightly or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside 4 tablespoons of this mixture for later.
  • Gently flatten the puff pastry sheets on a clean countertop. Reserve two sheets for layering on top.
  • Spread ¼ cup of softened butter evenly on the bottom two sheets of pastry and cover with most of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Place the reserved pastry sheets on top, slice into 12 strips, roll each strip tightly, and position them into muffin cups.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and aromatic. Sprinkle with reserved cinnamon sugar after baking.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle with melted chocolate for added decadence.
