Preparation Steps

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain any excess fat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they’re soft and fragrant.
  • In your slow cooker, layer all the vegetables on top of the beef mixture, spreading them out evenly for maximum flavor absorption.
  • In a bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup and seasonings until well combined, then pour over the layered mixture in the slow cooker. Mix gently to coat everything.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to LOW for 6-8 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, add the shredded cheddar cheese on top, allowing it to melt. Let the casserole stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley for extra flavor and color.
